Asphalt Paving

General asphalt paving for roads, paths, private lanes, and any surface that needs a durable, smooth finish. Built right from the base up.

Asphalt is the most versatile and cost-effective paving material for Michigan properties. Whether you need a private road, farm lane, walking path, or any other paved surface, Capital Paving delivers smooth, long-lasting results with proper engineering and quality hot-mix asphalt.

Every asphalt project we take on starts with a thorough evaluation of soil conditions, drainage patterns, and intended use. We then design the base thickness, asphalt mix, and grading plan to match your specific requirements. This attention to detail is what separates asphalt that lasts from asphalt that fails within a few years.

Asphalt paving FAQ

The ideal paving season runs from late spring through early fall, when temperatures consistently stay above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This allows the asphalt to compact properly and cure fully before winter.
Thickness depends on the intended use. Residential driveways typically require 2-3 inches of asphalt over a compacted base. Commercial surfaces and roads handling heavier traffic need 3-4 inches or more. We'll recommend the right specification for your project.
A properly installed asphalt surface with good base preparation typically lasts 15 to 25 years in Michigan. Regular maintenance like seal coating every 3-5 years can extend that lifespan significantly.
